Alice in Cryptoland

September 7, 2017 5:57 pm Published by

Kryptonite is not only an alien mineral with the property of depriving Superman of his powers, but Criptonite (XCN) is actually a known digital or crypto-currency. Based on Bitcoin, Criptonite is not precisely a coin exclusive to Superman, but XCN implements the mini-database scheme that is designed for maximum scalability, among other features. Going deeper down the cryptohole many other characters are found such as melons, squirrels, ether also called quintessence, the invisible man and time travellers.

Melons

The Melon character is a blockchain protocol for digital asset management on the Ethereum platform. It enables participants to set up, manage and invest in digital asset management strategies in an open, competitive and decentralized manner, in a way that reduces barriers to entry. The usage token is called Melon (MLN) like the fruit and is designed to enjoy a usage right to the Melon protocol.

Squirrels

HOdlcoin (HODL) which uses the symbol of a squirrel holding HODL “bitnuts”, is indeed a crypto-currency character just like Bitcoin, but it pays interest on every balance. This is to recognize the importance of HODLers and properly reward HODLing. Very high interest rates (4000%+ annual percentage rate-APR) are paid in the first few months to attract early adopters to the squirrel’s project.

Ether Also Called Quintessence

Ethereum is a decentralized platform that runs smart contracts. Smart contracts are applications that run exactly as programmed without any possibility of downtime, censorship, fraud or third party interference. In the Ethereum blockchain there is a price for each operation. The crypto-currency character behind is called Ether (ETH), and is used to pay for computation time and for transaction fees in this platform.

The Invisible Man

CloakCoin (CLOAK) is a character introduced with the aim of enabling people to use a coin that would provide total privacy. This coin has added clever layers of communication and a sophisticated off-blockchain coin mixing system making it impossible for 3rd parties to trace transactions between CloakCoin wallets. In other words, this is the exclusive coin of the invisible man.

Time Travelers

Reversecoin is the first crypto-currency character claiming to have the ability to reverse transactions. This suggests that this coin can indeed travel back in time. It is claimed that for a configurable period of time the transactions can be reversed, after which they get confirmed.

However, the most exclusive characters of Cryptoland we can find are the wonder, mystery and fantasy. And, of course, Bitcoin.
