Our mission is clear — We’re building a world where buying, holding, saving and spending digital and traditional currencies is quick, easy and open to everyone.

A UK-based Fintech with global reach

We’ve evolved from a London-based company to a truly global business, with offices in Europe, North America and Asia. Since inception, we’ve continuously pushed the boundaries of payments by bridging the world of cryptocurrencies and mainstream financial products. The Wirex app is used by more than 3 million people across 130 countries.

We’re the ‘hedgehog’ fintech and proudly so — it means that we seek to monetise our business as we grow. Building a sustainable business model is a key part of our global expansion. Since the first Wirexer signed up to use our unique payment app and card, we’ve processed billions in transactions — and few companies can offer the combination of traditional currencies and crypto assets available on Wirex. We expanded into APAC in late 2019 and plan to launch our USA product in 2020, having recently secured a payments licence from the State of Georgia.

Why we’re crowdfunding

Why we’re crowdfunding

We’re VC backed by SBI Group (a part of Softbank), so why seek funding now? Millions of ‘Wirexers’ have supported our growth since we started — this funding round is deliberately designed to give them an opportunity to own a share of the brand.

With recent milestones such as securing Mastercard Principal Membership and our imminent launch in the US, this is a rare opportunity to take a stake in a fintech on the cusp of significant global expansion.

Many Wirexers hold WXT, our native token, as a means of receiving rewards such as Cryptoback™. This funding round will allow those that share our mission to bring down financial barriers an opportunity not only to use Wirex, but to own a part of it too.

Important to know: Investing in start-ups and early stage businesses involves risks, including illiquidity, lack of dividends, loss of investment and dilution, and it should be done only as part of a diversified portfolio. This page is approved as a financial promotion by Crowdcube Capital Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (No. 650205)

Why is Wirex crowdfunding?

It’s been a wild ride since Wirex was formed in 2014. 6 years, 6 global offices and 3m+ registered customers later, Wirex has grown beyond all expectation thanks to the loyalty and support of our dedicated and discerning customers around the world. What better way to show our gratitude than to give our fatithful Wirexers an opportunity to own part of the business they love? That way, anyone can be a part of the Wirex success story moving forwards.

How do I make a return on my investment?

A return is made via a liquidity event; for example, Wirex being acquired by another company or floating on the stock market at a higher value, or a secondary market transaction.
