Fund your Wirex card with a range of payment options

April 9, 2018 11:42 am Published by

When you sign up for a free Wirex account, you’re instantly issued a virtual payment card. Verifying your account usually takes a few minutes. Then you’re ready to fund your card with a variety of payment methods – all from your phone.

Convert fiat (regular money) to Bitcoin using Wirex’s free exchange, then save, spend, send or sell as you wish. No technical knowledge required at any point. The Wirex app is intuitive and super easy to use.

Alternatively. you can keep a fiat balance on your card just like you would with a bank account. Securely save, spend or transfer to family and friends anywhere in the world. For free.

Not only does this eliminate the usual bank fees, it also provides you with a backup plan in case a financial crisis happens.

Currency accounts are, for now, only available in GBP. Virtual payment cards are available in GBP, EUR, and USD. GBP accounts have an account number and sort code, while EUR and USD accounts are shown as card balances.

Our payment options currently include:

Bank Transfer

UK residents can connect a bank account and transfer funds using the FPS (Fast Payments System.)

Residents of other European countries can likewise connect a bank account and deposit funds via the SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area.)

Credit and Debit Card

Link any 3D secure bank card to your Wirex account. Card deposits are limited to £1,000 per transaction. Your payment details are always secure and we never store sensitive personal information.

Deposit Bitcoin into your account from another wallet. Store Bitcoin in your wallet or convert it into fiat.

Fund your account with altcoins such as Ethereum, Litecoin, and Monero via our Shapeshift integration. Multi-coin wallets are coming soon, with Litecoin available now

No Exchange Limit

There’s no limit on the amount of crypto you can buy in one day. The maximum fiat balance is £7500 (or $10,000) but you’re free to deposit multiple times.  If, for example, you wished to buy £10,000 worth of Bitcoin, this would just take two deposits – one of £7500 and one of £2500.
