The Wirex Token (WXT) is the first native cryptocurrency on the Wirex platform and is designed to be extensively used within the Wirex app and on other cryptocurrency platforms.
Note: In order to purchase WXT, you must have a verified Wirex account.
How much WXT can I buy?
You can now buy and use as much WXT as you want in-app, just like any other digital currency we support.
WXT can be sent either via the Stellar platform or the Ethereum mainnet (please make sure the corresponding address is activated for the wallet).
When transferring WXT via Stellar, you will need to use a unique memo and the Stellar address, or federation address.
You can buy WXT in the Wirex app like you do with other currencies:
By exchanging crypto or fiat currency to WXT:
Log in to your Wirex account and click Exchange on the left-hand side. If you are using a mobile version, tap the Exchange icon on the dashboard.
On the Exchange screen, select the source account (a crypto or a traditional currency account).
In the To field, select the target WXT account.
Enter the sum you wish to exchange in crypto or traditional currency.
Click Use maximum amount (Max in mobile) to calculate the maximum sum available for exchange.
Click Exchange, review your transaction details and click Confirm.
Using your linked card:
Log in to your Wirex account and click Add on the left-hand side. If you are using the app, tap the Add icon on the dashboard.
On the Add Funds screen in the ‘From Linked Card’ section, click the card you would like to use.
Enter the amount you would like to purchase. This is shown in the base currency of the card.
Confirm your transaction.
Does WXT represent equity in Wirex?
WXT is a utility token and not a security token.
The value of the WXT token is not linked to the performance of Wirex and is subject to the market movements on secondary exchanges.
When you buy WXT, you are not buying stock or equity of Wirex, nor are you purchasing any other form of security.
