Wirex April Roundup

May 8, 2018 5:40 pm Published by

For those of you who keep up with the daily happenings of Wirex, you’ll already know that April was a big month for us. We have been constantly updating the app, continuing to add features to help you better navigate the multi-crypto and traditional finance worlds from our (very) clever platform.

For those of you who missed it though (where have you been?), here’s a quick summary of our top five April updates to get you set and even better, a sneak peek at what to look out for this month.

1. Currency Accounts and Virtual Cards

What happened?

As it says in the title, we launched our new Currency Accounts and Virtual Cards across all European countries.

What does that mean for me?

You can now reap the benefits of immediate exchange from multiple cryptocurrencies to popular fiat currencies (GBP, EURO, USD), fast international transfers and access to a virtual card to manage your money from wherever you’re based in Europe.

2. The Litecoin Wallet

What happened?

Bitcoin not enough? No problem. We’ve extended the app’s capabilities and now offer users a fully integrated Litecoin wallet.

What does that mean for me?

It means you can do everything you can with the Bitcoin wallet (you know, buy, save, spend etc.) but with Litecoin! Why? It’s increasingly popular amongst the savvy crypto crowd. It’s faster and cheaper than BTC and is looking to be a big contender for mass adoption.

3. Buy Crypto Functionality

What happened?

It’s back! We’ve re-introduced our ‘Buy Crypto’ feature on the Wirex app.

What does that mean for me?

You can once again fund your Wirex currency account with your 3D secured debit or credit card. Convert funds in your Wirex currency account straight into Bitcoin or Litecoin at your convenience and now with a daily top-up limit of 1,000 pounds, euros or dollars!

4. Foreign Exchange

What happened?

You can use your app for free and instant currency exchange – fiat to crypto, crypto to crypto, crypto to fiat and fiat to fiat.

What does that mean for me?

If you’re travelling abroad or just need to exchange your money fast and efficiently, you can now do it in a range of popular traditional currencies (USD, GBP, EUR) and cryptocurrencies without time constraints or charges.

5. PCI-DSS certification

What happened?

We’re official, baby! We’re 100% certified and comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. We’re the only cryptocurrency exchange who boast that level of certification.

What does that means for me?

You can use your app with total confidence that Wirex is as secure against hackers as it gets – we look after your money.

And, for May…

Look out for:

Plastic cards

We’ll be distributing our contactless payment cards further afield and making them available across all EEA countries.

Wirex Rewards

Coming soon is our Wirex rewards programme. It’s all hush for now but we will say this – keep your eyes peeled for our email and social channel updates. It’s good.
