Wirex brings back card spending to Asia

March 27, 2018 3:17 pm Published by

Wirex will launch cryptocurrency and multi-currency accounts soon

Wirex will launch contactless cards to spend money that has been exchanged from cryptocurrencies and the first ever multi-currency accounts for speedy exchange between BTC and SGD GBP, EUR, USD in Asia during Q2.

Wirex became the only provider in Europe to allow spending in cash, converted from cryptocurrencies last week and integrated its debit cards into its multi-currency (SGD, GBP, EUR, USD) accounts to make shopping even easier and quicker than before.

Phasing in delivery by regions ensures a stable and secure service globally. Asian customers will benefit from a finely tuned offering based on customer insights from across Europe and UK.

Cumbersome cryptocurrency exchanges can now be bypassed for a much more secure and speedy all-in-one account, saving time and effort. The new integrated accounts provide the flexibility of traditional financial services – such as bank-to-bank transfers – with access to real Bitcoins.

Pavel Matveev, CEO, Wirex said:

“Wirex is bringing to Asia the first ever multi-currency accounts and cards for spending cash converted from cryptocurrencies, making everyday purchases much simpler.

Our cards are great for transactions in stores, buying goods online or withdrawing money from ATMs.

“We were the first to bring such cards to the world and now we’re the first to bring multi-currency accounts with new contactless debit cards to Asia.”

Money 2020 has long been the top event for innovation in payments. We’re pleased to let our Asian customers know here that cryptocurrency spending just got much easier.”
