Cash withdrawal is an essential service that people use to access their funds in a convenient way. However, sometimes things don't go as planned, and the withdrawal is declined. This can be frustrating, especially when you urgently need cash. If you are experiencing issues with your cash withdrawal being declined using your Wirex card, don't panic. This article will guide you through some of the possible reasons and solutions to this problem.
Insufficient funds
One of the most common reasons why a cash withdrawal is declined is due to insufficient funds in the account. This happens when you attempt to withdraw more money than what you have in your account. To fix this, check your account balance and ensure that you have enough funds to cover the withdrawal. If you don't have sufficient funds, consider depositing more money into your account.
Incorrect PIN
Your Personal Identification Number (PIN) is a crucial security feature that protects your account from unauthorised access. If you enter the wrong PIN, your cash withdrawal may be declined. Double-check that you are entering the correct PIN before attempting to withdraw cash again. You can view (or change) your PIN in the “Cards” section of the Wirex app. If you have entered your PIN incorrectly three times, you will need to contact the Wirex Customer Support team for assistance.
ATM limits
Sometimes, the ATM itself may have limits on the amount of cash you can withdraw in a single transaction or per day. If you attempt to withdraw more than the allowed limit, the transaction may be declined. Check the ATM's withdrawal limits before attempting another transaction.
Blocked account
Wirex may block your account for several reasons, including suspicious activity, security breaches, or verification issues. If your account is blocked, you will not be able to withdraw cash. In this case, contact the Wirex Customer Support team for assistance.
Technical issues
Another reason why your cash withdrawal may be declined is due to technical issues. Wirex may be undergoing system maintenance, which can mean that transactions can’t be processed temporarily. In this case, wait some time and try again later. If the issue persists, contact the Wirex Customer Support team for assistance.
If your cash was not dispensed but has been debited from your Wirex account, please get in touch with our Customer Support team. Please note that it may take up to 50 days to receive your refund as we are obliged to give the merchant time to respond. If the transaction is pending, please wait 7 days before contacting us. The money should be automatically refunded after this period of time.
