Scammers sometimes send fake emails pretending to be Wirex. To help you spot them, we offer a personal Anti-Phishing Code – a short word or phrase that only you know.
If this code appears in an email, it's a sign the message is genuinely from Wirex. If the code is missing or incorrect, the email could be a scam.
How to set up your Anti-Phishing Code
Open the Wirex app
Go to Preferences → Security → Anti-Phishing Code
Tap Set Code
Enter a short word or phrase (no special characters)
Confirm with biometrics or PIN
You’ll get a confirmation email showing your new code
From now on, this code will appear in every official Wirex email about logins, transactions, or security.
To change or delete your code
Go to Preferences → Security → Anti-Phishing Code
Tap Edit Code to update it, or Delete Code to remove it
Confirm the change with biometrics or PIN
Good to know
Your code should be memorable but private
Don’t use your name, birthday, or anything obvious
You can change or remove your code anytime in Settings → Security
The code will only appear in real emails from Wirex
Support will never ask you for your code
Common Questions:
Q: I got an email that says it’s from Wirex. How can I tell if it’s real?
A: Check for your Anti-Phishing Code. If the code is there and correct, it’s from us. If it’s missing or wrong, do not click anything — it could be a phishing attempt.
Q: Someone messaged me asking for my Anti-Phishing Code. Should I give it?
A: No. Never share your code. Not even with Wirex staff. If someone asks for your code, it is likely a scam.
Q: I forgot my code — what do I do?
A: Just go to the same screen in the app and set a new one. You don’t need to remember the old one to replace it.
