Why Coins Can Get Delisted

At Wirex, we always aim to provide a safe and reliable trading environment for our customers. To achieve this, we sometimes have to make the tough decision to delist certain coins from our platform. This decision is never taken lightly, and it’s done with our customers' best interests in mind. Here are some common reasons for delisting:

1. Low Trading Volume

Coins with low trading activity can be challenging for users to buy or sell at fair prices. When a coin doesn’t have enough trading volume, it can negatively impact your ability to make transactions effectively and could lead to potential losses. To protect your investments, we might delist coins that lack sufficient trading activity.

2. Delisting from Other Major Exchanges

If a coin gets delisted from other major exchange platforms, it might indicate broader issues, like decreasing demand or loss of credibility. This can impact the overall trading ecosystem of the coin, making it riskier to hold. By delisting such coins, we aim to shield our customers from these potential risks.

3. Lack of Development Activity

Some coins may not see enough updates or improvements in their technology or network. A lack of development can be a red flag, suggesting the coin might not have a strong future. We monitor these factors closely and may delist coins that aren’t showing development activity.

4. Compliance and Regulatory Concerns

If a coin doesn't meet regulatory requirements or if there are compliance issues in certain jurisdictions, we may have to delist it to ensure we stay in line with regulations.

What Happens After Delisting?

Once a coin is delisted, there is no assurance that it will be relisted in the future or that its value will increase over time. We encourage you to stay updated on the coins you invest in and make decisions that align with your investment goals and risk tolerance.

Delisted coins can still be present in your Wirex wallet, but you won’t be able to trade them on our platform (withdrawals might remain possible for a limited time). It’s important to check our announcements and take necessary actions, such as transferring the coin to another exchange or wallet that supports it.
