What is APE?

Launched by ApeCoin DAO just last week, ApeCoin (APE) is a brand-new Ethereum token for the Bored Ape Yacht Club ecosystem. Lucky holders of Bored Ape and Mutant Ape NFTs get free APE to do whatever they want with, and those without any in their collection just yet can buy, exchange, store and spend it with Wirex.

How to get your hands on it

To buy ApeCoin with your credit or debit card, here’s what you’ve got to do:

1. Select your APE currency account
2. Tap Add Funds
3. Choose a linked credit or debit card, or link a new one*
4. Enter the amount you want to add and confirm tap Add Funds - done!

*To verify your linked card, make your first transaction and simply enter the 4 digit code found next to the transaction on your local bank card statement - it should look something like WIREX0000.

Alternatively, you can exchange APE with any of our 35+ cryptocurrencies. Here’s how: 

1. Select the account you want to exchange from and tap Exchange
2. In Exchange from, select the source account
3. In Exchange to, select your chosen account
