How to add funds to your Wirex account

Once you’ve successfully joined Wirex, the first thing you’ll want to do is to add funds to your account (because there’s not much you can do if you don’t have funds there)! With over 150 traditional and cryptocurrencies available on our platform, we give you the option to add traditional and crypto funds. And we want to give you plenty of choice and flexibility to suit your needs in doing so, and so there are plenty of different methods available depending on where you live. 

A full list of the options available to you can be found from your main Dashboard within the app, and clicking ‘Add Funds’. But in this article, we’ll cover the three main ways to fund your account with Wirex: by bank, connecting your debit/credit card, or by crypto transfer.* 

How can I make a bank transfer to Wirex? 

• From the main Dashboard, click ‘Add Funds’ 
• Choose the traditional currency you’d like to top up I.e. GBP or EUR 
• Choose ‘Regular bank Transfer’ 
• Your bank details will be shown. You can then click the paper icon to the right-hand side to copy each row into the app of the bank you wish to transfer the funds across from 
• Alternatively, if you want to share them with someone so they can send you money, click the ‘share’ button at the bottom to send the details to them via Whatsapp, Telegram, Email etc. 

How can I add funds via debit/credit card to Wirex? 

• From the main Dashboard, click ‘Add Funds’ 
• Choose the traditional or cryptocurrency you’d like to top up.  
• Under the ‘Cards’ section, pick which card you’d like to top up using. If you haven’t already added a card, click ‘Add New Card’ and enter the card details. 
• Input the amount that you’d like to top-up and click ‘Add Funds’. If you chose a cryptocurrency, the exchange rate will be shown before you make the transaction (don’t worry, we offer the best market rates!) 
• For security purposes, you might then be taken to the banking app that your card belongs to confirm the transaction 

How can I add funds by depositing crypto into Wirex? 

• From the main Dashboard, click ‘Add Funds’ 
• Choose the crypto you’d like to top up.  
• Choose ‘On-chain deposit’ 
• Select the network that you will be sending the cryptocurrency on. Make sure you confirm this before you move forward! 
• Your wallet details for that cryptocurrency on that network will be shown. You can then click the paper icon to the right-hand side to copy the address into the external wallet you wish to transfer the crypto across from 
• Alternatively, if you want to share them with someone so they can send you crypto, click the ‘share’ button at the bottom to send the details to them via Whatsapp, Telegram, Email etc.
