Token Listing and Governance Process

Upd: Jun 3, 2025

Wirex Group and by extension, Wirex Pte Ltd (“Wirex” or “Company”) maintains a Token Listing Policy which includes the identification, evaluation and management of risks associated with the introduction of new digital tokens on the Wirex platform. This Token Listing Process document is established in accordance with the approved Token Risk Assessment Policy and the requirements of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (“MAS”) PS-G03 and other relevant laws and regulations applicable.

Wirex Group and Wirex is committed to upholding the highest compliance standards and ensuring that it provides clarity and transparency on its listing and governance policies and procedures.

The people/roles involved in the token review process includes:

  • CEO(s)
  • Directors
  • Chief Product Delivery Officer
  • General Counsel
  • Chief Risk and Compliance Officer or Head of Compliance
  • Finance/Treasury
  • System Product Owner

Review and Approval Process:

The initial review of the DPT involves a consideration of the following:

  • Issuer reputation ad track record
  • Market demand and potential
  • Token utility and use case
  • Technology & security considerations
  • Adherence to Wirex’s policies and standards
  • Market volatility and risk factors
  • Token economics and distribution

A review of these factors provides a greater level of comfort with regards to the token’s suitability for authorisation within the Wirex Platform. This comprehensive assessment helps to minimise risks and ensures alignment with Wirex’s strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.

Listing Process:

Once the DPT has been reviewed and approved for listing, the System Product Owner and the team take the necessary steps to integrate the approved DPT into the Wirex Platform, ensuring seamless functionality and accessibility for users.

Ongoing Monitoring:

Continuous monitoring is imperative to ensure ongoing compliance and risk management. Ongoing monitoring involves regular reviews of the critical attributes such as liquidity, risk rating, Composite Risk Index (CRI) and other relevant factors. If any discrepancies are observed, immediate action is prompted for the System Product Owner and team.

Delisting Process:

The delisting process involves the removal of a token supported by Wirex due to increased risk or failure to meet our standards. In the event that a token exhibits increased risks or issues are identified during the ongoing monitoring process, a risk downgrade is prompted and the process for delisting is initiated to remove the non-compliant or high-risk token from the Wirex Platform. This proactive approach to ongoing monitoring ensures the integrity and security of the token offerings available to Wirex clients. A DPT may be delisted for the following reasons:

  • Ongoing non-compliance – the DPT fails to meet the compliance requirements despite remediation efforts

  • Regulatory enforcement – the DPT is deemed to be non-compliant or illegal by relevant authorities

  • Prolonged technical issues – performance issues or vulnerabilities which cannot be resolved

  • Insufficient market interest, liquidity or trading volume which renders the DPT inefficient to support
