We’re excited to reveal the long-awaited longlist for this year’s Rising Women in Crypto Power List. On Friday 29th October, we closed nominations for the Wirex and UKTN’s Power List, and received over 200 nominations of outstanding entries.

What is the ‘Rising Women in Crypto Power List’?

Returning after a successful inaugural year, the 2021 Power List has proven hugely popular yet again, seeking nominations of female industry-leaders that are helping the global crypto industry to thrive. The list aims to showcase the extensive and diverse roles that women are playing within the crypto sector, featuring those from the DeFi, legal & compliance, marketing, journalism, graphic design and coding sectors. Women from over 50 countries were mentioned, including the UK, US, Brazil, India, and Singapore.

What is the ‘Women in Crypto’ Campaign?

We created the Power List as part of our wider ‘Women in Crypto’ campaign to celebrate women working in crypto, blockchain and tech fields that are rarely recognized for their incredible achievements. With crypto being a stereotypically male-dominated industry, we at Wirex want to shine a light on exceptional women and give others the confidence to get involved in the sector.

In September, we hosted a brand-new event, ‘Women in Crypto: Tech, Innovation & Digitisation’ live at tech accelerator, Level39. Featuring six female powerhouses talking everything crypto, DeFi and blockchain, it was a great opportunity to reach a huge audience and hundreds of viewers all around the world and share the contributions women are making to the world of crypto. In case you missed it, you can rewatch the event here.

This year, we’ve also been able to catch up with some of the women featured on last year’s shortlist as they share how they’ve continued to shape the crypto industry over their career.

Who is on the Longlist?

On the 11th November, we’ll be announcing the final ten winners of the Power List. Our judges will have some tough decisions to make, assessing the nominees on their achievements, potential, influence, ambition, leadership skills and innovation. This year’s judging panel includes:

  • George Coxon, Director of the Nano Foundation & Appia
  • Amy Barker, Global Head of People at Wirex
  • Hedi Krueger, Director of Digital & Innovation at Mastercard
  • Ria Shetty, Ambassador of the European Women in Payments Network
  • Ada Vaughan, Growth & Partnerships at the Stellar Development Foundation

But first, we received over 200 nominations from all around the world and without further ado, here is the Rising Women in Crypto Longlist for 2021! Congratulations to all those mentioned!
