Plaid is a payments platform that allows you to securely connect your bank accounts to Wirex, making it easier to add funds to your account, without needing to leave the Wirex app.
Requirements

Your Wirex account must be verified before you are able to use Plaid

The name on the bank account you are using to add funds to your Wirex account must match the name on your Wirex account

You must be located in the UK or EEA
Please be aware that while a large number of banks do support Plaid, not every financial institution is available to be used with this feature. If your bank does not appear on the list, then Plaid is not currently available to you.
Adding funds to your Wirex account using the Wirex app

Open the Wirex app and click ‘Add Funds’ on the Homepage. You will then need to select the currency account to which you want to add funds
- From the list of payment options, select ‘Secure Bank Transfer’
- Enter the amount you wish to add to your account and click ‘Add Funds’. You will then be asked to confirm the amount

You will then be given the option to select your bank – you can scroll or search for your bank

NB – the list will only show banks that are available with Plaid and will only show banks in the country of the currency that you are adding. E.g. Only UK banks will be shown for GBP

Once you have selected your bank, Plaid will open your bank’s authorisation page within the Wirex app in order to select the relevant account where your funds will come from and to authorise the transaction

You will then see a confirmation page with the transaction details and you’re all set!
Adding funds to your Wirex account using the Wirex Web Browser

Open the Wirex web browser and click ‘Add Funds’ on the Homepage. You will then need to select the currency account to which you want to add funds

Processing Times
In most cases, when you add GBP or EUR to your Wirex account using Plaid, the funds will be transferred instantly. However, please allow up to 3 business days for the funds to appear in your Wirex account.
