2021 roundup: A recap of the latest Wirex products and features
It’s been a rollercoaster of a year so far. Now that we’re more than halfway through 2021, we thought we’d remind you of all the new products and features we’ve launched since the start of the year.
From brand-new products to a wide range of new cryptocurrencies, we’ve introduced a lot this year – all part of our mission to make crypto open and accessible to all.

Send Money to Contacts
We introduced the Send Money to Contacts feature back in March to provide you with a simple way to send money to your friends and family. All you have to do is synchronise your phone’s address book and you can pay your contacts in a couple of taps!
Live in-app chat
Need help or want to ask us a question? We recently relaunched our Live Chat in the Wirex app, giving you 24/7 support at the touch of a button. You can now instantly connect to our customer support team and get the help you need quickly and efficiently.
The launch of the Wirex Mastercard in the EEA
March was also the month we launched the revolutionary Wirex Mastercard to customers in Europe. Boasting game-changing benefits, including up to 2% Cryptoback™ rewards both in-store and online, free ATM withdrawals and the ability to spend crypto and traditional currency in real life, the Wirex Mastercard represents the future of payment cards.
The X-tras rewards programme
We also launched our revamped rewards programme, X-tras, in March, allowing customers to get more out of their Wirex accounts than ever before. Three flexible price plans – Standard, Premium and Elite – offer different tiers of rewards and benefits, including supercharged Cryptoback™ rewards, annual Savings Bonuses on WXT account balances and exclusive merchant offers.
X-Accounts
Our ground-breaking new savings tool officially launched in June. X-Accounts let you earn up to 16% AER on selected currencies – that’s 100x more than the national rate! You can withdraw your funds at any time at no extra cost and create up to 10 different X-Accounts in-app. Interest is accumulated daily and paid weekly, so all you have to do is sit back and watch your savings grow!
20 new ERC-20 tokens
