Longlist for the 2022 Rising Women in Crypto Power List Revealed
We’re excited to reveal the longlist for Wirex and The Cryptonomist’s 2022 Rising Women in Crypto Power List! After being open for 4 weeks, we’ve collected over 200 nominations of women from across the industry doing incredible things!
What is the Rising Women in Crypto Power List?
The Rising Women in Crypto Power List is part of Wirex’s Women in Crypto campaign, which both kicked off in 2020. The campaign was created to celebrate women in the crypto sector, showcase their roles and inspire others to get involved. With Wirex having an above-average female: male ratio, it’s an initiative that’s close to our hearts, and aligns closely with our core goal to empower everyone to have access to the benefits of crypto, including women!
Now in its third year, as part of the initiative, the Power List has welcomed over 700 nominations of women from the crypto sector doing incredible things. Each year, we work with a panel of judges to select the top 10 winners that demonstrate the highest levels of achievement, potential, influence, ambition, leadership skills and innovation.
How is the 2022 Rising Women in Crypto Power List Different?
Nominations for this year’s list were opened at their live event, ‘Women in Crypto: How will Web3 and the Metaverse Affect you?’, on the 15th September. Since then, there’s been over 200 nominations from women in 30 countries across the globe, from sectors ranging from PR and legal, to operations and public speaking.
For 2022’s Power List, we’re working with our media partner The Cryptonomist, as well as a panel of five hugely experienced judges (of which 4 of them are brand new!) to choose our winners.
This year, a focus has been placed on rising stars, as opposed to those that are regularly recognised in similar awards. We’ve also decided to include three additional awards, including social media influencer of the year, newcomer of the year, and young Ukrainian of the year.
